Papillopollis partialis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-55-596 (Catatumbo). Loc: 39.9X124.7 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain triporate; spheroidal; pore P α 2, P β 2, P γ 1; sculpture type reticulate at the polar area and foveolate at the equator. Muri simplibaculate. Columellae digitate in polar area. Grain probably semitectate. Exine has a thickness of 2 μ in equatorial area and of about 3.2 μ in polar area. Diameter of lumina in polar area is about 1.3 μ and in equatorial area < 0.5 μ. Pores provided with costar pori. Ectexine thicker than endexine.
