Taxonomy
Mytilus shulapsensis was named by McLearn (1942). Its type specimen is GSC 9444 and is a mold. Its type locality is Tyaughton Creek, 0.75 miles above Spruce Lake Creek, which is in a Rhaetian marine siliciclastic in the Tyaughton Formation of Canada.
