Taxonomy
Kurdalagonus adygeicus was named by Tarasenko and Lopatin (2012). Its type specimen is NMRA 10623/3, a partial skull (2 braincase fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is HEPS, which is in a Tortonian deep-water siltstone in the Blinovo Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Mithridatocetus adygeicus by Goldin and Startsev (2017).
