Carcinodon antiquus
Taxonomy
Chriacus antiquus was named by Simpson (1936). It is not extant. Its type specimen is AMNH 27714, a maxilla (P3, M1-3).
It was recombined as Oxyclaenus antiquus by Van Valen and Sloan (1965), Middleton (1978), Williamson (1996), Eberle and Lillegraven (1998); it was recombined as Baioconodon antiquus by Van Valen (1978); it was recombined as Carcinodon antiquus by Williamson and Carr (2007).
