Taxonomy
Afrodon gheerbranti was named by De Bast et al. (2012). Its type specimen is IRSNB M1982, a tooth (Right m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hainin well vertebrate fauna, which is in a Danian lacustrine claystone in the Hainin Formation of Belgium.
