Cricosaurus vignaudi
Taxonomy
Geosaurus vignaudi was named by Frey et al. (2002). Its type specimen is UANL-FCT-R1, a partial skeleton (incomplete skull and mandible, altas axis, and two cervical vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mazatepec (Geosaurus vignaudi Site), which is in a Tithonian offshore limestone in the La Pimienta Formation of Mexico.
It was recombined as Cricosaurus vignaudi by Young and Andrade (2009), Bronzati et al. (2012), Young et al. (2013), Carbot-Chanona (2014), Parrilla-Bel and Canudo (2015).
