Taxonomy
Cypridopsis was named by Brady (1868) [Sepkoski's age data: Q Plei R Sepkoski's reference number: ZR84]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Cypridopsinae.

It was assigned to Podocopida by Sepkoski (2002); to Cypridopsinae by Whatley et al. (2002); and to Cyprididae by Musacchio (1973) and Carignano (2012).
