Signetopsis was named by Henningsmoen (1954) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-l S Prid]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Signetopsidae.
It was assigned to Palaeocopida by Benson et al. (1961), Sepkoski (2002); and to Signetopsidae by Abushik and Evdokimova (2016).
