Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria brenensis was named by Reed (1932). It is a mold. Its type locality is Bren Spur D, which is in a Sakmarian coastal shale in the Agglomeratic Slate Formation of India.
It was recombined as Platyteichum brennensis by Dickins (1961), Waterhouse (1963); it was recombined as Glabrocingulum (Stenozone) brennensis by Batten (1972); it was recombined as Platyteichum brenensis by Waterhouse and Chen (2006).
