Taxonomy
Vanganardia koczrkeviczi was named by Gramm (1997). Its type specimen is BPI 112024, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vangan Mountain, Maiche River, Primorye, which is in a Capitanian carbonate limestone in the Chandalaz Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Vanganardia.
