Taxonomy
Eoscapherpeton superum was named by Nessov (1997). Its type specimen is CCMGE 232/12177 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kansai, FKA-7a, which is in a Santonian fluvial-deltaic horizon in the Yalovach Formation of Tajikistan.
