Oxygnathus egertoni
Taxonomy
Cosmolepis egertoni was named by Egerton (1858). Its type specimen is BMNH P.3508, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Barrow-on-Soar, Enniskillen collection, which is in a Planorbis marine limestone in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Cosmolepis.
It was recombined as Oxygnathus egertoni by Woodward (1890), Woodward (1891).
