Taxonomy
Monothecalis rariepitheca was named by Zhu and Zhao (1992). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xiaofang, Mengshan, Shanggao County, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Qixia Formation of China.
