Trioracodon major
Taxonomy
Triconodon major was named by Owen (1871). Its type specimen is BMNH 40722, a mandible (right mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Feather Quarry, Durlston Bay (DB102), which is in a Berriasian marine shale in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Trioracodon major by Simpson (1928), Jenkins and Crompton (1979), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
