Taxonomy
Sphaeriola grandaeva was named by Waagen (1881). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Virgal, topmost beds of Upper Productus-limestone, Salt Range, which is in a Changhsingian marine sandstone in the Chhidru Formation of Pakistan.
