Taxonomy
Comelicothyris laterosulcata was named by Posenato (2001). Its type specimen is MDTF54 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sass di Putia, Bed PK53, which is in a Changhsingian open shallow subtidal wackestone in the Bellerophon Formation of Italy.
