Rhabdocantha alta
Taxonomy
Pileopsis alta was named by Dana (1849). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Harper's Hill, Hunter Valley (USNM coll), which is in a Sakmarian marine limestone in the Allandale Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Rhabdocantha.
It was recombined as Platyceras (Orthonychia) altum by Etheridge (1898); it was recombined as Rhabdocantha alta by Fletcher (1958).
