Alectrion brassoensis was named by Mansfield (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Trinidad and Tobago.]. Its type specimen is USNM 352668, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Nassarius (Uzita) cercadensis by Woodring (1964); it was synonymized subjectively with Nassarius trinitatensis by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
