Taxonomy

Cyathaxonia distorta was named by Worthen (1875).

It was recombined as Lophophyllidium (Lophophyllidium) distortum by Fedorowski (1987).

Synonyms

Stereostylus lenis was named by Jeffords (1947). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kansas City, quarry at 33d and Roanoke St., Frisbie Limestone, which is in a Missourian marine limestone in the Wyandotte Formation of Missouri.

It was synonymized subjectively with Lophophyllidium (Lophophyllidium) distortum by Fedorowski (1987).
Stereostylus pandatus was named by Jeffords (1947). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baldwin, Hartwell Quarry, Plattsmouth Limestone, Douglas, which is in a Virgilian marine limestone in the Oread Formation of Kansas.

It was synonymized subjectively with Lophophyllidium (Lophophyllidium) distortum by Fedorowski (1987).
