It was reranked as Venericardia (Megacardita) by Fleming (1966).

It was assigned to Carditidae by Vokes (1939); to Venericardia by Fleming (1966); to Venericardiinae by Vokes (1980) and Beu et al. (1990); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002).
