R. von Cosel 2006 | Shells medium-sized to very large, rather thin to strong and solid, very variable in outline, in general subcircular to somewhat triangular, but also almost circular to even short-oval. Anterior margin broadly rounded to more or less pointed. umbones in front of the vertical midline. Surface with more or less pronounced commarginal ribs or lamellae and finer threads between them. Hinge with two well developed cardinal teeth in each valve and a small anterior lateral and often a small posterior lateral. Diverging part of the anterior adductor scar very long and more ore less narrow. |
