Kashiwara was named by Sashida and Tonishi (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad Sepkoski's reference number: 1007]. It is not extant. Its type is Kashiwara magna.
It was assigned to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002); and to Entactiniidae by Noble et al. (2017).
