Eocitharinus macrognathus
Taxonomy
Eocitharinus macrognathus was named by Murray (2003). Its type specimen is WM 245/96a and WM 245/96b, a partial skeleton (part and counterpart of the anterior two-thirds of a skeleton), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Mahenge, which is in a Lutetian crater lake mudstone/shale in Tanzania. It is the type species of Eocitharinus.
