Yangella was named by Liu and Gu (1988) [Sepkoski's age data: D l Sepkoski's reference number: ZR90]. It is not extant. Its type is Yangella cuneatiformis.
It was assigned to Trigonioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Myophoriidae by Liu and Gu (1988), Fang et al. (2009).
