Hapalodectes paleocenus
Taxonomy
Hapalodectes paleocenus was named by Beard et al. (2010). Its type specimen is IVPP V14713, a mandible (left dentary preserving m2-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Subeng Unit 3 (Mammal Site), which is in a Gashatan fluvial-lacustrine conglomerate in the Nomogen Formation of China.
