Geratrigonia was named by Kobayashi (1954) [Sepkoski's age data: J Hett J Toar Sepkoski's reference number: 93]. It is not extant. Its type is Trigonia hosourensis.
It was assigned to Trigonioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Trigoniidae by Hayami (1975) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
