Eretmosaurus rugosus

Taxonomy
Plesiosaurus rugosus was named by Owen (1840). Its type specimen is BMNH 14435, a set of postcrania (postcranial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is near Granby, which is in a Sinemurian marine horizon in the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Eretmosaurus rugosus by Seeley (1874), Lydekker (1889), Delair (1960), Persson (1963), Kuhn (1971), Benson et al. (2012).
