Leptonectes moorei
Taxonomy
Leptonectes moorei was named by McGowan and Milner (1999). Its type specimen is BMNH R14370, a partial skeleton (skull, fore paddles and anterior trunk), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Seatown, which is in a Pliensbachian offshore marl in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
