Chacaicosaurus cayi
Taxonomy
Chacaicosaurus cayi was named by Fernandez (1994). Its type specimen is MOZ 5803 PV, a partial skeleton (Skull and postrcranial fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chacaico Sur-Charahuilla (icthyosaur locality), which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in Argentina.
It was recombined as Stenopterygius cayi by Fernandez (1994), Fernandez and Maxwell (2012).
