Taxonomy
Loboidothyris aethiopica was named by Weir (1929). Its type specimen is L. 1424 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bihendula (basal echinoid Bihin limestone), which is in a Bathonian/Bajocian carbonate limestone in the Bihin Limestone Formation of Somalia.
