Siphonochelus (Laevityphis) linguiferus
Taxonomy
Typhis linguiferus was named by Dall (1890). Its type specimen is USNM 112183, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 546 - Tenmile Creek, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
It was recombined as Laevityphis (Laevityphis) linguiferus by Keen (1944); it was recombined as Siphonochelus (Laevityphis) linguiferus by Gertman (1969).
