Taxonomy
Palocyathus seymourensis was named by Filkorn (1994). Its type locality is Seymour Island I,, which is in a Maastrichtian estuary/bay sandstone/siltstone in the López de Bertodano Formation of Antarctica. It is the type species of Palocyathus.
