Taxonomy
Kopaninoceras was named by Kiselev (1969). It is not extant. Its type is Orthoceras jucundum.

It was reranked as Michelinoceras (Kopaninoceras) by Chen et al. (1981).

It was assigned to Michelinoceras by Chen et al. (1981); and to Orthoceratidae by Kröger (2008).
