Bumbanius rarus
Taxonomy
Bumbanius rarus was named by Russell and Dashzeveg (1986). Its type specimen is PSS 20-96, a mandible (right dentary with m1-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsagan Khushu Quarry 1 [SMPE], which is in a Bumbanian terrestrial gravel in the Naran Bulak Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Bumbanius.
