---|---|---|
C. Li 1999 | A small to medium-sized longipinnate ichthyosaur differing from other taxa in the combi-
nation of the following characters : rostrum moderately elongated, not much slender but distinct from the cranium, and shorter than 1/2 length of the skull. Orbit greatly enlarged, circular in outline. Postorbital region much shortened. About 42 presacral vertebrae with elongated neural spines. Trunk region of the vertebral column greatly arched dore/ally, while tail only slightly bent down distally. Hind limbs slightly stronger than fore ones. Narmw paddles consisting 4 digits with a phalangeal formula of about 13-15 (hand) or 5-8 (foot) phalanges polygonal or circular in configuration. Major limb bones somewhat more elongated than in Late Triassic fonns, with gap between epipodial elements | |
M. W. Maisch and A. T. Matzke 2000 | "Small ichthyosaur, less than 2 m entire length, snout very short, orbit very large, forefins with three primary and well developed fourth postaxial digits, neural spines elongate in trunk and anterior tail, haemapophyses very long and slender, as in Toretocnemus." | |
C. Ji et al. 2016 | Premaxilla posterior end pointed, with both dorsal and ventral processes absent; tridactyl forefin with one accessory digit and tetradactyl hind fin; tibia contiguous shaft complete. |
