Fusus haitensis was named by Sowerby (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Fusus henekeni haitensis by Maury (1917); it was recombined as Fusinus haitensis by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Fusinus henekeni haitensis by Snyder (2003), Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
