Duriavenator hesperis
Taxonomy
Megalosaurus hesperis was named by Waldman (1974). Its type specimen is BMNH R.332, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Greenhill, Sherborne (BMNH), which is in a Bajocian marine grainstone in the Upper Inferior Oolite Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Duriavenator hesperis by Benson (2008), Benson and Barrett (2009), Carrano et al. (2012), Fernandes de Azevedo et al. (2013), Hendrickx and Mateus (2014), Rauhut et al. (2016), Razzolini et al. (2016).
