Bothremys arabicus
Taxonomy
Karkaemys arabicus was named by Zalmout et al. (2005). Its type specimen is YUP-HUS 100, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skull lacking lower jaws, found in association with a plastron, caudal vertebrae, partial pelvis, and partial femur, tibia, and fibula), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wadi Falqa, near El Huseiniya, which is in a Santonian coastal sandstone in the Wadi Umm Ghudran Formation of Jordan.
It was recombined as Bothremys arabicus by Gaffney et al. (2006).
