Taxonomy
Euphemites batteni was named by Yochelson (1960). Its type specimen is AMNH 28184 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is AMNH512, Guadalupe Pass, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas.
