Taxonomy
Lophocarinophyllum chandalasicum was named by Il'ina (1987). Its type specimen is PIN 2873/19 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Shirokaya Falls, Barabashevka River Tributary, which is in a Capitanian carbonate limestone in the Chandalaz Formation of the Russian Federation.
