Taxonomy
Stenasodelphis russellae was named by Godfrey and Barnes (2008). Its type specimen is CMM-V-2234, a partial skull (partial skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Seahorse Beach, north, which is in a Tortonian coastal mudstone in the St Marys Formation of Maryland.
