Taxonomy
Derbyia regis was named by Grant (1995). Its type specimen is USNM 473691, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM9262, Nisitsa, Hydra Island, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine packstone/wackestone in the Episkopi Formation of Greece.
