Taxonomy
Gangshanoceras was named by Zou (1988) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Gangshanoceras jurongense.

It was assigned to Orthocerida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Proteoceratidae by Kröger et al. (2007).
