Taxonomy
Venus meridonalis was named by Sowerby (1846) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Miocene; Chile, Argentina.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Chione meridonalis by Frassinetti and Covacevich (1999); it was recombined as Ameghinomya meridonalis by Griffin and Nielsen (2008).
