Cytherea fallax was named by Deshayes (1857) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Macrocallista fallax by Hassan (1953); it was recombined as Dosiniopsis fallax by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
