Crusafontina fastigata was named by Van Dam (2004). Its type specimen is IVAU AG5A 51, a tooth (A1 sup. sin.), and it is not a trace fossil.

J. A. Van Dam 2004 | Small Crusafontina species. A1 extremely elongated, about twice as long as broad. Apex highly pointed. Posterolingual corner reduced, with the hypocone close to the meeting point of paracone crest with posterior border. M1 with subdued mesostyle and with short and straight metaloph not connected to the metacone. Posterior cingulum thins out along the metacone and does not reach the hypoconal flange. Very slender, rectangular, and short M2 with pointed parastyle and metastyle, reduced mesostyle, and reduced hypoconal flange. Slender p4 with buccal crest not well developed and posterolingual basin very shallow. |
