Taxonomy
Parascalops fossilis was named by Skoczen (1993). It is not extant. Its type specimen is ISEZ PAN MF/1018/24, a set of postcrania (Humerus sin.). Its type locality is Podlesice, which is in a MN 14 cave breccia in Poland.
