Tupaiodon minutus was named by Matthew and Granger (1924) [Matthew & Granger put a question mark to the generic assignment]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is AMNH 19135, a mandible (dext. with p3-m1).
It was recombined as Zaraalestes minutus by Storch and Dashzeveg (1997).
