Taxonomy
Tupaiodon minutus was named by Matthew and Granger (1924) [Matthew & Granger put a question mark to the generic assignment]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is AMNH 19135, a mandible (dext. with p3-m1).

It was recombined as Zaraalestes minutus by Storch and Dashzeveg (1997).

Granger 1924Somewhat smaller than T. morrisi, the molars of nearly the same size, but narrower, with distinct external cingulum; anterior part of lower jaw much more slender and weak; p3 two-rooted, simple, with single acute uncompressed cusp, minute anterior basal cusp and well-developed posterior basal cingulum; p4 sub-molariform but smaller than molars, having two well-separated cusps, a lower anterir cusp and a broad low cingulum encircling posterior end of tooth.
A. Sulimski 1970 (Ictopidium tatalgolensis)Incisors obliquely situated, p2 small, simple, single-rooted. The crown of p3 moderately compressed; paraconid small; metaconid present, weak; labial cingulum present delicate. Paraconid of p4 large, sharp; labial cingulum present, delicate. m1 larger or equal to m2. Protoconid of m1 well developed; metaconid lower than protoconid; hypoconulid often lacking; posterior cingulum well visible; labial cingulum well marked, below hypoconid sometimes lacking. m3 smallr or equal to m2, without hypoconulid.
