Vitrinella holmesi was named by Dall (1889) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Caribbean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Adeorbis holmesi by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Cochliolepis holmesi by Hendy et al. (2008).
