Terebra inaequalis was named by Sowerby (1849) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Terebra (Paraterebra) inaequalis by Woodring (1928), Hendy et al. (2008).
